Greetings! First thank you again for volunteering to help host the 2026 BC/Yukon/VI Regional Agility Championships. We cannot say this enough! It is going to be a great weekend – thanks in great part to all of you who stepped up… It literally could not run without you. Most especially – thanks to those of you with limited (or no!) knowledge of agility who have volunteered to take part. Feel free to get in touch with questions.
This is to share some of the more detailed information now that registration is closed and we are finalizing the run lists and schedule. Your specific assignment has been emailed to you. Please let me know ASAP if your day and time of assignment is incorrect.
I have tried as far as humanly possible to honour requests for specific roles and for assignments with friends. The schedule is a house of cards… with various levels of experience needed and where possible “newbies” supported by someone more experienced. Please – please! Do not ask to switch assignments.
The volunteer hub will be in the RCMP Barn. We will be to the right immediately as you enter the main area. We will have a check in table and a “rest area” , a spot with chairs and tables to grab a snack and eat lunch. The main washrooms are also in this area.

A note about food!
The volunteers and Judges are “on duty” for each full shift – for those volunteering for the whole day there will be a break of approximately 45 minutes between the morning and afternoon shifts on Friday and Saturday. We recommend that you take advantage of the lunches provided in the Volunteer Hub for ease of access and a chance to relax. There are also some amazing food trucks on site…. If you are volunteering for just one shift you are still very welcome to eat with us, but with extra time at your disposal you may also want to try out some of the great offerings on hand. You can check out the line up on the Regionals website – it changes each day! www.capitalcomets.ca
Logistics
Please enter by Gate 6 (next to the gas station). You will be directed to volunteer parking on arrival. We recommend that you do not leave valuables in your car. While the location is typically secure we cannot guarantee the safety of, or be responsible for, lost valuables.
The event will go ahead rain or shine – please dress accordingly and consider bringing layers, rain gear, a sun hat and sun screen.
If you are volunteering in the ring – no drinks (other than water) or snacks allowed inside the ring (those amazing K9 noses can get distracted).
Access to the site will be by a wrist band allocated at check in. Please note – sadly, the event is not open to the public – space is limited and we just don’t have room to accommodate spectators. You may request an additional pass for a family member/friend in advance – we have a limited number of extra passes for competitors and volunteers.
Again – please get in touch if your assignment time is incorrect, or if you have questions! (RECEIVED IN YOUR PERSONAL EMAIL)
Thank you……Wendy
